What is TubeBuddy

 TubeBuddy is a keyword research tool, which displays the Google keyword statistics for a selected set of keywords. You can also find out how many times a particular keyword appears on Google's search engine listings.

 TubeBuddy is free to download and use, and you receive daily keyword updates via email. I'm not entirely sure why TubeBuddy ranks so high for the keyword " TubeBuddy". It doesn't take a genius to figure out that this tool is nothing more than another paid keyword tool.

In addition to finding popular keywords, Tube Buddy enables you to see the search volume for a selected set of keywords. For instance, let's say that we want to find popular keywords associated with video sharing.

 I would install TubeBuddy, highlight a few keywords, and see the search volume for each one. Once done, I could then choose to target those keywords, or I could simply ignore them. The decision is totally up to me, although, I do find it interesting that YouTube itself is not offering any video sharing related tools.

To add, I've always found it interesting that a tool which promotes keyword popularity is promoting keyword popularity via a video sharing website. While I am well aware that keyword popularity is important, it's equally important to me that I maximize my exposure by finding the best exposure that I can for a given keyword.

 TubeBuddy does not help with that because it only shows the search volume for a given keyword, not the number of youtube videos that have been targeted with that word. I find it odd that Tube Buddy would rank so highly for the word " TubeBuddy" while nobody else seems to be doing anything with the keyword itself. 

At least that's what I thought until I saw the overwhelming response that I got when I shared my results with someone on Twitter.
